The gardens at Prescott are as they were in the 1930’s when designed by Scottish landscape gardener, Mary Stewart. She was commissioned by Miss Mary Prescott and was successful in creating an inviting garden which combines formality and tranquility.
Very little is known about the gardens in Charles Prescott’s time but is speculated that they were formal in design featuring shrubberies and perhaps a circular rose garden enclosed by a moat on the front lawn. It has been recorded that he grew dalias and over 50 varieties of roses.
